Meeting couples who click like Teal and Davin do is one of the most exciting parts of being wedding photographers. When we first met these two for coffee this winter, we immediately clicked with their fun personalities, hilarious bantering, and family stories they shared with us in a humorous light. Needless to say, their engagement shoot was equally as epic with a fun hike at Meyer Ranch in Conifer, Colorado to a memorial bench for Teal’s grandfather, sunset photos with their dog Syd and of course, a couple brewski’s to top off the evening. Hearing Teal and Davin’s story (especially his awesome proposal around the dinner table with family…see below!), has made us so incredibly excited for their wedding day this fall in Denver! Congratulations you two! Thank you so much for having us be on this journey with you!

From the Bride :
- How did you two meet?
“Davin and I met through our mutual friend crystal. She is one of my best friends and was in grad school (MBA) with Davin. I went to watch a Broncos game with crystal and her school friends and met Davin. We bonded over our love for sports. After that I would always want to know when crystal was seeing her school friends so I could meet Davin again. After running into each other a few more times he finally asked for my phone number and we started dating.”
- When did you know you wanted to marry each other?
“I think when Davin took a job in vail after finishing his MBA and I didn’t even question it – we went and got margaritas and tacos and made a plan to move together to vail. We were just always on the same page and got along well from day one.”
- How did Davin propose?
“Davin really wanted to surprise me with his proposal. So he waited until a family dinner when I would least suspect it and proposed while I was eating Brussel sprouts.”
- What are you most excited about for your wedding day?
“We are most excited to have all of our friends and family we love together to celebrate and have an awesome dance party.”
What is something fun you learned about each other during your wedding planning?
“I think our wedding planning has reinforced that we both like a good party, disagree on our tastes in music but are both willing to compromise, and the key to a good wedding is an open bar and a DJ named Dwight with a mustache.”

Winter is, in my opinion, one of the most precious seasons. It’s beauty and quietness is hands down one of my favorite times of the year. When Jackie and Matt got in touch with us to chat about their winter bridal portraits, I was so thrilled! Despite the cold temperatures, their shoot was one for the books! Their love for each other after nearly two years of marriage is simply adorable! Thank you so much for having me capture your wedding portraits. Check out their story below!
From Jackie :
• How did you two meet?
“Matt and I met in a really unbelievable way. I was living in Loveland and was moving into a bigger townhouse so I needed 2 roommates. All of my friends were already on a lease so I posted an ad on Craigslist for “awesome roommates only,” to respond to my ad. Matt contacted me saying he was moving into the area from Pennsylvania and would be working for Poudre Valley Health System. Low and behold, I too was working for Poudre Valley Health System so I knew Matt had gone through quite a few background checks and had to be pretty awesome to be working for PVHS. So we met the day we signed the lease for the townhouse. We went to coffee and then dinner after to get to know each other, moved in a few days later, and boom- the rest is history! We never got a third roommate…”
Last weekend one of Denver’s awesome wedding photographers, Ashley Kidder, hosted her first workshop that focused on details and decor. I’m all about spending time with some awesome gals on a Sunday afternoon shooting away, so I’m thrilled to share some of the images I got at the event. Enjoy!

Rocky Mountain Bride
Our 2016 wedding season is already over halfway booked and our heads are exploding with excitement and gratitude for the amazing couples who have invited us to be a part of their wedding day. Our love for Colorado weddings is bigger than we ever could have imagined. It was merely 5 years ago that I (Tay) started telling people in West Virginia that I was moving to Colorado to be a wedding photographer in the mountains, not having any idea what that would look like, what the future would hold, or how blessed I would in fact be.
As we move forward into the 2016 season, Mike and I have been chatting about what our future will look like and have decided that we would love to extend our wedding coverage to even more of the Rocky Mountains: specifically, Montana, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and even up to Alaska if we are so lucky to be given the opportunity. We have no doubt that 2016 is going to bring some amazing adventures with our awesome career and we are so excited to pursue more of our love for the Rockies and mountain weddings! For any couples interested in having us come celebrate with them and help us meet our goals, we’d love to WAIVE OUR TRAVEL FEE for weddings that truly fit our Rocky Mountain style.
If you or someone you know is tying the knot in one of these states next year and are looking for an adventurous couple who will climb mountains with you (figuratively and literally) on your wedding day, let’s chat!

As our last wedding of the year, we were so excited to spend some time with Mark and Natalie and they’re friends and family in Durango, Colorado at the Blue Lake Ranch for their beautiful fall wedding! Thank you so much, you two, for having us be a part of your wedding day and congratulations again!

Would you believe me if I told you these two met at a funeral? Well, it’s true! But Jeremy, being the stand-up guy that he is, couldn’t have asked for a pretty gal’s phone number at a funeral. As the stars aligned, Jeremy and Cass crossed paths later in life and began dating. When Jeremy called a few weeks ago to tell me about his proposal he said something along the lines of, “She doesn’t have a clue. I just got a book on craftsmanship, so she thinks I’m building a canoe, not planning her proposal and buying a ring!” During a long weekend trip from Omaha to Colorado, Jeremy knew he was going to ask the love of his life to marry him. As they made their way to the trail at Red Rocks, he dropped down to one knee and Cassandra in shock excitedly said, “Yes, I’ll marry you!” Thank you so much for having us be a part of this incredible moment in your lives and congratulations you two!

When you work in the wedding industry, you have a tendency to meet like minded and awesome people. For us, meeting Kylie and Jason was one of those times! With a loving and humble heart, Kylie works as a wedding planner and like us, has seen hundreds of couples dedicate themselves to each other and marriage. Needless to say, there was an entire army of us thrilled when it was finally their turn to say, “We do!” Kylie and Jason’s fall wedding at the Pines at Genesee was nothing short of amazing, emotional, and an all around beautiful day. We are so thrilled for the two of you and can’t wait to see where marriage takes you!

When we first met Amanda and Josh last winter over coffee, we knew we’d love them! After already knowing their family, we were sure we’d adore these two just as much! Over the last year we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Amanda and Josh and their families, their beautiful love for each other, and their eagerness to enter into marriage. We are so excited these two found each other shortly after moving to Colorado! Thank you so much for having us be a part of your journey! Love you guys!

We tend to genuinely love our couples. When we have the awesome opportunity to develop an friendship with those we get to spend their special day with, it makes our job feel so intimate, emotional, and overall wonderfully beautiful. For the last year, I had the honor of seeing all of their DIY projects, tossing around wedding day ideas together, as well as sending hilarious YouTube videos to each other and epic selfies. On top of that, seeing the love and humor that Zachary and Adriana share has been nothing short of amazing. The way they adore each other and can joke together without missing a beat is endearing and hilarious to watch! Their perfect wedding at the Pines at Genesee was them to a tee as all of their DIY projects came together and all of their family and friends gathered in a stunning autumn afternoon. We are so honored to have been a part of your wedding day, and more importantly, a part of your lives. We can’t wait to watch you go on this journey through marriage together!
Love you guys!
