Briana and Trent’s Scottish inspired wedding at the Venue at Crooked Willow Farms goes down in our books as one of our most unique weddings. When we first heard about their big day from our friends at Prive Events, we were so excited for the opportunity to be apart of it all! Their vision for their wedding day, along with collaborating with Brittany at Prive, was going to make for an incredibly unique and fun wedding. There were a lot of hands on deck at their big day in October, and everyone worked diligently and excitedly to bring their vision together. Thank you so much for having us be apart of your special day, you two!

How did the two of you meet?

“Trent and Briana first met in 2012 at Red Rocks Community College in a sign language class. Trent was taking several classes at Red Rocks working on his Business Degree, while Briana was just taking the one class at Red Rocks while finishing her Mechanical Engineering Degree at the Colorado School of Mines. After Trent saw Briana in the sign language class he deviously asked her to help him study. Trent spent many hours “studying” that semester just to spend time with Briana.”

Tell us about your first date!

“Our first date was a wine tasting class. We were not officially dating at that time and this was the first time Trent attempted to ask Briana to be his girlfriend but she shot him down before the words even left his mouth.”

How did Trent propose?

“Trent proposed to Briana after a beautiful walk around the grounds of Glengorm Castle last September. The castle was the perfect backdrop for Trent to get down on one knee. Trent started by telling Briana how much he loved her and how beautiful she was. He then dropped to one knee and had Briana turn around.”

How did you guys choose The Venue at Crooked Willow Farms venue for your big day?

“We came home to Colorado to make our final decision on the venue. We had narrowed it down to 5 locations and visited all of them. In the end The Venue at Crooked Willow Farms wedding is the venue we fell in love with and fit our Scottish theme the best.”

What was your most memorable moment from your wedding day?

“The most memorable part of the wedding was the ceremony, specifically the words of affirmation.”

If you could pick one word to describe your wedding ceremony, what would it be?

Trent: “Eventful.”
Briana: “Mysterious. Many guest stated after that they were constantly wonder what the next surprise would being during our wedding.”

What was the most fun part of wedding planning for you?

“Briana’s favorite part was finding her wedding dress and the reaction it gave her and her dad. Trent enjoyed finding so many Scottish aspects to incorporate in the wedding.”

What are you most looking forward to in marriage?

“We are looking forward to starting a family together and waking up together.”

Tell us about planning your wedding out of state. What was the best part?

“Planning our wedding out of state was surprisingly easy because Briana’s mother lived in Colorado and was able to handle some of the details that Briana was unable to be there in person for. The best part of planning the wedding was getting to see our families so often with needing to go back to Colorado to complete certain aspects of the wedding planning in person. Briana’s other favorite part was finding her wedding dress. Trent enjoyed finding so many Scottish aspects to incorporate in the wedding.”

What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding now?

“Get an amazing wedding planner. They make all the difference.”
