Nathrop Colorado Wedding Photographer at Tri Lazy W Ranch

Wow. We are so thrilled to share have had the honor to be apart of this amazing Nathrop Colorado wedding! It was January when we first met Jen, her mother, and mother-in-law at the Heart of the Rockies Wedding Association Un-Bridal Show in Salida, Colorado. From the first time we chatted with her, we knew we just had to be her and Jake’s wedding photographers! Totally dressed for the part in our cowboy / cowgirl boots, Jen told us about her soon-to-be in laws ranch and her vision for their wedding. As luck would have it, Jake’s folks were our neighbors! What are the odds?

Without missing a beat, we booked their engagement shoot at the ranch, which has held such a special place in our hearts. Jake and Jen gave us a tour of the ranch and told us about all the plans they had for their wedding day there. Needless to say, their big day exceeded all of our expectations!

Jen and Jake, thank you so much for having us capture these memories for you guys. It was truly an honor to be there with you on your wedding day and we can’t wait to see where marriage takes you!

How did the two of you meet?

“We met at Colorado Mesa University where we both attended college. We lived in the same dorm and Jake came limping in from rodeo practice. I saw it and held the door open for him while he TRIED going up the stairs and started talking from there!”

Jake, how did you propose?

“Jake proposed by taking Jen to Garden of the Gods, hiking up onto a trail, and asking her there.”

Tell us about planning your Nathrop Colorado wedding at your folks ranch. Having done it, would you do it again?

“Absolutely! Everything was so perfect, the weather, the backdrop, everything! Knowing the setting made planning easier. The best part was just the outdoor setting and having the convenience of the cabins and house to get ready in.”

What was your most memorable moment from your Colorado wedding day?

Jake: “Jen walking down the aisle.”
Jen’: “Jake crying as [I] walked down the aisle!”

How did you guys choose your folks ranch for your wedding venue?

“As soon as Jake proposed, he said “I want to get married on the ranch.” He wanted to get married there since he moved there.”

What was the most fun part of wedding planning for you?

“The most fun part was taste testing the buntinis and catering!”

What are you most looking forward to in marriage?

“Planning a life, home and family together with each other!”

If you could pick one word to describe your wedding ceremony, what would it be?

“Breathtaking!”

What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding now?

“Remember that there are so many little things your guests truly don’t care about. If something goes wrong, they probably have no idea, and don’t care. So, don’t sweat the small stuff and just have a good time-it’s a party!”
