We love hearing couple’s talk about their wedding day with us, especially the first time we meet them. There’s an undeniable excitement in their voices, especially when that couple, like Josh and Liz, are planning an intimate mountaintop ceremony with their closest friends and family. For these two, their ceremony was the most important aspect of their big day and they only wanted to share it with a few close family members, creating an incredibly serene and intimate evening atop Genesee Mountain, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. Liz spent so much time making her own bouquet, the boutonnieres for the boys, and delicately planning every aspect of their wonderful ceremony. After their moving ceremony, we all headed to downtown Denver where Liz and Josh shared a dance amidst nearly a hundred folks outside of Linger, where their family and friends gathered for a dinner celebration! After their wedding day, they headed off to St. Lucia for a much needed and relaxing honeymoon! We are so thrilled we got to be a part of their awesome wedding day! Thank you both, so much, for inviting us to head to the mountains with you as you said, “We do!”
Love,
Mike and Tay
How did you two meet?
“Josh and I caught each others eye from across the room at a Westminster pub. We very much had a Hollywood moment and eventually made our way over to each other to chat.”
When did you know you were going to marry each other?
“I had a pretty good idea that I wanted to marry Josh the day after we met, but wasn’t sure it was ever going to happen until he proposed 5 years later. After some time living together, Josh decided I was the one.”
How did Josh propose?
“Josh proposed at a small park on the shore of Lake Maggiore in northern Italy. We were under the stars and could see the water glistening, the lights of the town across the lake and the silhouette of the mountains in the distance.”
What is your favorite quirk about the other?
“Josh enjoys my irrational fears and I find it adorable that he never knows what day it is”
What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding now?
“Everyone will have an opinion about every detail of your wedding, but if you work together with your partner, you can make the day exactly what you want, and it is totally worth it! It is also very helpful to have great photographers (Taylor and Mike) who you have full confidence will help insure everything runs smoothly.”
How did you chose Genesee Mountain for your ceremony site?
“We enjoy our time outdoors and wanted a site with a mountain view. After looking at dozens of areas, Josh suggested I take a look at Genesee Park, which neither of us had visited before. When I parked, I took a look around and immediately started walking toward the area that we held the ceremony and it just felt right.”
What is your most memorable moment from your wedding day?
“My most memorable moment will be when I stumbled after walking up to Josh and hearing all of the guests gasp. Josh’s most memorable and most fitting moment, will be when he fumbled the vow about listening.”
