From the first time we met Amanda and Pete, we knew they were a special couple. Their bond was undeniable as we all shared coffee at Starbucks one evening and spent nearly two hours chatting and laughing during their storytelling about how they got engaged and their vision for their wedding day. We immediately loved their enthusiasm about their ceremony (the most important part of their big day) and how they were constantly stealing glances from each other. Their wedding day was nothing short of amazing, emotional, and intimate. Surrounded by family and friends at the church Pete and his father built, we were captivated by the love and support these two had from loved ones. When the ceremony was over, we headed up to Hoosier Pass with the entire bridal party packed into a souped up bright blue school bus and made our way to Breckenridge for their wonderful reception at the base of the Rocky Mountains. We feel so blessed and thankful to have been a part of your wedding day, Amanda and Pete! Thank you so much for having us there with you!
Love,
Mike and Tay
How did the two of you meet? “We were introduced by mutual friends in a bar at a Catholic Beer Club event.”
How did Pete propose? “He took me on a hike around Rainbow Lake and had stations with pictures and notes set up along the walk. At the end he had a spot by the lake where he laid out candles and lanterns, then he got down on one knee and proposed :)”
When did you know you wanted to marry each other? “Pete said he knew when we went to see the Christmas lights at Chatfield. I knew when he and my dad sat on the couch together for an hour bonding over construction material logs…my dad bonding with boyfriends was unheard of at this point haha!”
If you could pick one word to describe your ceremony what would it be? “Breathtaking.”
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day? “Our first kiss as Mr. & Mrs.”
What is a fun quirk you love about the other? “Pete can fall asleep anywhere, anytime. When he’s tired, he’s tired! Amanda has the coldest hands in the West…she can’t stay warm to save her life.”
What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding now? “Take a break and go on a date. Don’t forget that your wedding is about your vows, not a perfect reception.”
