Luke and Quintana met in 2010 on a hike up Mt. Bierstadt and Mt. Evans via the Sawtooth Ridge with a couple of mutual friends. They quickly found that their personalities were as compatible as their interest in outdoor adventures. They spent the next several years enjoying and challenging one another while mountain biking, snowboarding, hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking additional 14’ers. Eventually, they were able to make their own home in the mountains southwest of Denver in Conifer.
Luke proposed on Quintana’s birthday weekend in March 2014. True to her adventurous spirit, Quintana had wanted to spend the day wandering the woods and looking for spring antler sheds; Luke arranged for them to work their way up to a hilltop view of nearby Mt. Evans. When she turned around from taking pictures of the mountain, Luke was on one knee and immediately she was soaring with emotion.
They planned an outdoor fall mountain wedding to share their love for each other and their adventurous lifestyle with close family and friends in September 2015. Their favorite part of the wedding was the ceremony, a story of their relationship beautifully crafted and delivered by Keith Horstman, with meaningful contributions by some close family members. They couldn’t have imagined a more joyful beginning to our marriage!
Quintana was adamant about incorporating close family (including their double doodle, Tessy) and friends and local businesses into their wedding day. Her mother intricately designed and made her stunning wedding dress. The couple made all of their wedding decorations, which included hunting for pinecones and making picture frames out of them! Quintana made beautiful scarves for her bridesmaids as a thank you gift. Many of their vendors were local to the area Quintana and Luke call home in Conifer and close to the venue in Pine.
Thank you two so much for your friendship and for having us be a part of your incredible wedding day! Congratulations on the best adventure of your life!
Cheers,
Mike + Tay
