HOW TO MAKE SIX-FIGURES WORKING WITH YOUR DREAM CLIENTS
WITHOUT GETTING LOST IN A SATURATED MARKET
When I started my photography business, I had no clue, no clients, no business, and $300 to my name. I quit my corporate job after that nagging feeling that I was created for something bigger just wouldn’t get any quieter. Despite rent being due a few weeks later and only owning one camera with one single lens, I knew I couldn’t stay in the corporate world and continue making other people more money at the expense of my own freedom and creative desires.
I went to Telluride with my boyfriend (now husband) where we started to flush out branding, design, marketing, and writing a business plan (no one ever saw it, but it felt good to put my energy somewhere). Despite having only shot a few cousins weddings and some shots of the kids I babysat playing in dirt, I knew my photography was worth at least pursuing to see what could come of it. Mike and I went out for ice cream in this expensive mountain town in Colorado, and I bawled my eyes out. I cried for the change that I was terrified for, I cried for my depleted bank account, I cried for relief that I was doing something I cared about, and I cried that I had just bought ice cream I couldn’t afford…now bringing my checking account to $290 with rent due next week.
Fast forward a mere two years and I was crying at the kitchen table (noticing a pattern here) because I had made the same amount of income I was making at my corporate job. I had actually provided a reliable income for my family! Fast forward another two years and we had our first six-figure year from the photography business I had built from the ground up. All the lies I believed about having to have the perfect, curated, cherry-picked portfolio with 10 years of experience could have held me back–but instead, I focused on what I believe are some of the most important elements of running a photography business, and I’m excited to share them with you now!
Focus on your dream client
I know what you’re thinking: who or what the heck is a dream client? But getting clear your dream client is EVERYTHING. Determining this critical element of your business will lead you to authentic marketing, a sincere photography brand, being able to charge more than you ever thought you could for your photography, and creating a unique experience for people who will literally build your business for you.
DESIGN YOUR STELLAR BRAND EXPERIENCE
I’m talking everything from how you host your sessions, how you make people feel after a shoot, your branding, logo, website, post-session delivery, and holiday gifts. Running a six-figure photography business means you are a client centric and relationship focused maniac who thrives off making others feel your amazing energy and loving every minute they spend with your brand.
DEFINE YOUR “WHY”
It’s time to get real with yourself and break out a new journal. To take the leap to shooting for an income, you have to be clear on your “why” so that when you’re working all hours, wondering if it’s all worth it, and raising your prices, you know exactly why you’re doing it. Maybe it’s for financial freedom, maybe location freedom, or possibly for those precious babies (fur or human) who you know deserve you to be your best self. Regardless of what your “why” is, write it down in ink, in the shower steam, on a mirror…anywhere!

Hey there
I’m Taylor.
I believe we each have a calling in life; an irresistible tug that never seems to subside, no matter how much we try to ignore it or how busy we find ourselves each day.
I believe you were meant to listen to that little voice.
I believe the world deserves to experience it.
And I believe my calling is to help you get there.
I‘m Taylor. I’m a six-figure photographer, educator, and business coach. I’m also a wife, a proud mama to two little boys, and I spend my mornings sipping oat milk London Fogs with eight alpacas outside my back door. But no matter how I attempt to define myself, one of the greatest joys in my life is helping fellow women define and discover themselves, and to help guide their photographic calling in life.
For the past decade, I’ve had the honor of spending thousands of hours behind the camera, capturing love stories, photographing miracles, and witnessing genuine happiness. Leaving behind a corporate career, this calling in life has allowed me to live the life of my choosing. It has given me the freedom to provide for my family while giving me the time to be present with them. To get paid to travel the world. To work when I want. To spend time outdoors. To practice yoga. To watch my boys grow. To embrace this life.
I’m here to to help you live the life of your own choosing.
