I hope you’ve got your tissues ready for Theresa and Hollis Ann’s wedding day! Love knows no bounds, and neither do storm clouds when they gather to witness the union of two souls deeply in love. In the majestic embrace of Copper Mountain, Colorado, Theresa and Hollis Ann exchanged vows amidst a breathtaking backdrop of rainbows and rain showers. Their wedding day was not just about celebrating their commitment to each other; it was a testament to resilience, love, and the beauty of theirs, and so many of ther loved ones, relationships.
Copper Mountain, with its rugged terrain and picturesque vistas, provided the perfect setting for Theresa and Hollis Ann’s love story to unfold. As they stood before their loved ones, framed by towering peaks and misty clouds, it was as if nature itself was applauding their union. The air was charged with anticipation, and as the ceremony began, tears were already being shed, and a sense of magic enveloped the mountaintop.
Theresa, radiant in a tailored burgundy floral suit, and Hollis Ann, stunning in a captivating white romper, exchanged vows that echoed with sincerity and devotion. Their love shone brightly, piercing through the storm clouds that threatened overhead. As they promised to stand by each other through life’s trials and triumphs, there wasn’t a dry eye among the guests (or the photographer…ahem).
But it wasn’t just the storm clouds that graced their celebration; a vibrant rainbow arched across the sky, casting its colorful hues over the proceedings. For Theresa and Hollis Ann, the rainbow was more than just a meteorological phenomenon; it was a symbol of hope, resilience, and the beauty of diversity. It was as if the universe itself was affirming their love and celebrating their union.
The reception that followed was a joyous affair, filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt speeches. Family and friends toasted to the newlyweds, celebrating their love and the journey that had brought them to this moment. Against the backdrop of Copper Mountain’s rugged beauty, the excitement was palpable!
But amidst the celebrations, there were also moments of reflection. For Theresa and Hollis Ann, their wedding day was not just a celebration of their love, but a reminder of the journey they had overcome to get there. But through it all, their love had remained steadfast, a beacon of hope in a sometimes uncertain world.
I will admit, I cried more at Theresa and Hollis Ann’s wedding than at any other wedding I’ve attended (and it’s been over 400). Thank you, both of you, for reminding me why I do what I do.
Much love!
Taylor
“Taylor is hands down the best wedding photographer we could have ever selected! As queer women finding the right person can be challenging but I can say we made the best choice with Taylor! Her personality made things even better. I could not stop crying (from being overwhelmed, overjoyed, and so in love) and she was amazing to still capture the most amazing pictures. She was easy to communicate with and overall such a great person to get to know. Now I am trying to find another excuse to use her!!” -Theresa
- Tell us about how you decided on your wedding venue at JJ’s Tavern? It was the first place we looked at. Checked all the boxes and matched exactly to our personalities and the environment we were looking for. We knew we wanted to be in the mountains so when we visited Copper Mountain, it was more than perfect.
- Tell us your love story! How did the two of you meet? What we tell others if we don’t have time to fully explain: we went to the same high school. The real story: TINDER! I [Teresa] remember swiping right and automatically getting a match when I came across Hollis Ann’s profile. Her smile caught my eye right away and it was the most beautiful thing ever. I sent her a message and immediately we realized we went to the same high school – no wonder we had so many friends in common. We got to talking and a couple weeks later on June 6, 2017, we went on our first date. Our first date consisted of pizza, beer, and never ending conversation. At the time, I lived in San Antonio and she lived in Austin (~1.5 hours away) so for months I made the trek back and forth to be with her. Our dogs (Leia and Duncan) became best of friends and knew this was better than anything either of us had ever expected. 5 years later flew by and here we are, WIVES!
- Tell us all about your proposal! December 12, 2020 – Hollis Ann thought we were going ring shopping (little did she know I already had one!) and I told her I was planning a special lunch for us since it was going to be a special day. I planned a surprise picnic in a park downtown Austin – Auditorium Shores. As we were eating our snacks and drinking our adult beverages, I asked Hollis Ann to take selfies with me as the weather was absolutely perfect. She indulged me much to her liking. In the middle of our “photo shoot” I turned around and grabbed the ring and asked the beautiful Hollis Ann to marry me in which she responded with, “wait, are you serious?!”. She said this, I kid you not, about 5 times before I responded with “….well??”. Of course she said YES and for the rest of the day Hollis Ann has the biggest, most beautiful smile on her face.
- What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
Hollis Ann: Making a vacation out of picking a wedding venue. Great excuse for some extra PTO and who doesn’t want to go up to the mountains in the summer!?
Teresa: Ring shopping. I was so excited to finally have a ring!! - What was your most memorable moment from your ceremony?
Hollis Ann: When we finally said “I do” and I was able to hold Teresa. She had been in tears most of the ceremony and I just wanted to have her in my arms.
Teresa: The moment I turned the corner and saw how beautiful Hollis Ann was with her parents, I could not contain my love or excitement. - What are you most looking forward to in marriage? Being adventurous and making memories with my best friend. Telling people that she is my WIFE!
- What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding now? Don’t get caught up on the little details. They may seem like big deals or super stressful, but it is not worth stressing over it in the end. Once wedding day comes and you start getting ready time will fly by. Enjoy every moment of it and take it all in because it will be over before you know it.
