Salida SteamPlant Wedding

Without a doubt, Ed and Alex’s Salida Colorado wedding at the SteamPlant is one for the books! We met this sweet couple at the Heart of the Rockies Bridal Association Un-Bridal Show back in January. As soon as we started chatting with them, we were so intrigued. Their love for each other, vision for their sweet and intimate wedding day, and obviously, their dog being apart of the wedding drew us in! Alex and Ed both have an incredibly laid back nature that immediately makes you at peace when you’re near them. By the time their wedding day came, they were simply excited just to be married and to celebrate!

Mr. & Mrs. Revfem, thank you so much for having us be a part of your amazing wedding day! We can’t wait to see photos from your honeymoon in Moab, Utah and to see all the adventures you’ll take!

How did the two of you meet?

“Through a mutual friend of ours. he thought we would be a good match for each other, and we were!”

Ed, how did you propose?

“I got a fancy table setup in our apartment, with a table cloth and everything, and cooked her a nice dinner. Then I had our dog come out with the ring tied to her collar, while playing one of Alex’s favorite songs, “Here comes your man” by The Pixies.”

Tell us about your first look!

“The first look was fun and I think we both enjoyed it, even though we had briefly seen each other in our outfits awhile back.”

How did you guys choose the Salida SteamPlant for your Salida Colorado wedding venue?

“Alex used to work for a brewery that did the brew fest in Salida’s main park. She said it was a beautiful place, and we both wanted a affordable mountain wedding. Once we took a tour of the SteamPlant and checked out the town, we knew it would be the right place.”

What was the most fun part of wedding planning for you?

“Finding the venue. Once we started planning the small and important parts of the wedding, it got a little stressful.”

What was your most memorable moment from your wedding day?

“Playing Chris Browns “Yeah 3x” after the formal dances, and we got everyone to start dancing. Everyone looked so happy, and Alex’s face was glowing! It was such a great moment.”

What are you most looking forward to in marriage?

“Growing old together, and sharing all the amazing experiences of life with your best friend.”

If you could pick one word to describe your wedding ceremony, what would it be?

“Fun!”

What advice do you have for couples planning their wedding now?

“The more low key your wedding is, the more you and your guests will enjoy themselves. Keep the formalities and traditions to a minimum. Everyone is there to celebrate your marriage and have fun. All you need is tasty food, booze, and good music!”

Are you going on a honeymoon? If so, where are you going?

“Moab, then Telluride and Ouray, Colorado. We will be 4 wheeling, hiking, mountain biking, and just overall adventuring.”
