I feel like I can’t say enough about Chelsea and Mike. Upon our first meeting with them over coffee, we knew they were one of those super fun couples we were going to be amped to work with! While they explained their reasonings for having a Wednesday wedding and hearing about their proposal story, we quickly learned their chemistry and how well they compliment each other. Mike is an incredibly outgoing guy who speaks whatever is on his mind ,which kept us laughing for most of their meeting and engagement shoot, and Chelsea is one of the sweetest people on earth who giggles all the time! Their chemistry and way they interacted at their shoot was definitely worth noting in this blog.
We are so excited to work with you two and are so honored you chose us to document and share this awesome time! Thanks for making your engagement shoot so fun and entertaining! We totally can’t wait for July 23!!!
If anyone has had to experience the roller coaster of wedding planning, it’s Jen and Ryan. From date changes to venue changes, these two have been through quite the roller coaster to find their perfect venue at Villa Parker this upcoming summer! When I first chatted with Jen, she sounded like one of the sweetest people I’d ever meet. Needless to say, I was so excited when the stars aligned and their wedding date became available at the last minute!
During their engagement shoot, we got to do some really fun experiences we don’t normally get to do. Jen works for DaVita which just so happens to have one of the most amazing building in downtown Denver. When she suggested we grab some rooftop shots from their sky high building, Mike and I were all over it! We got a glimpse of Jen and Ryan’s life that we don’t normally get to see from the couples we work with. We got to see where Jen spends most of her days and hear all about the awesome company she works for! And I must say, the views from the top were absolutely incredible!
Thank you so much for an awesome morning, Jen and Ryan! We are so excited to get to work with you all!
Keystone Resort, Colorado | One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to meet and learn new people. When we meet a couple for coffee, we can only get to learn so much. That’s why I love engagement shoots, because when you spend 3 hours making out in front of someone and singing to each other, you tend to get pretty comfortable with one another.
When Mike and I first met Nicole and Bowie, we knew they were an awesome couple. Their dynamics and way they interacted with each other was so refreshing and fun to watch. This in and of itself has me so excited for their wedding day! Like a lot of girls, Nicole “talks” with her eyes. You wouldn’t know it from a lot of the photos posted, but during their engagement shoot, most of the images we got back were photos of Nicole making faces at Bowie and getting him to laugh. It was hilarious! If I was a jerk, I’d have a bloopers gallery just for Nicole and her awesome facial expressions she made in 80% of their photos.
Nicole and Bowie, we are absolutely thrilled for the two of you and can’t wait for your fall wedding this year! Despite the piercing cold, you made your engagement shoot a blast, so I can only imagine how much fun your big day is going to be!
People in love make me so happy. Not just any people, good people. The kind of good people you know are meant to be together. When Mike and I met Daney and Keenan, we knew right off the bat that they were that good kind of love. They met in high school and have been together ever since. After Keenan proposed on Daney’s birthday, they immediately began their wedding planning for this spring. After moving between Idaho, Washington, and Oregon, we are so pumped that they finally ended up in the great state of Colorado!
We are so thrilled and honored that we get to travel to Eagle, Idaho for their big day! Below are just a few of our favorite photo from their sunset shoot in the Rockies. Congratulations, Daney and Keenan! We can’t wait for your beautiful spring mountain wedding!
My goodness. If anyone ever questions whether or not Kate and Matt are hardcore Colorado-ans, I’ll just show them these photos! Despite the bitter cold, windy, and snowy morning, their winter wonderland engagement photos turned out so beautifully!
Now, I know just as much as the next gal that when we see winter engagement photos, we get all cozy and warm. However, we never consider the freezing temperatures, piercing wind, and wet snow. Despite those elements, Kate and Matt rocked their engagement shoot! I’m not going to lie, I waited until 6:50am for a phone call from them saying, “Yea, we’re staying right where we are in our PJ’s with hot cocoa…” but that call never came. Their optimism, absolutely stunning smiles, and Matt’s constant giggles made the shoot so fun! We had a great time and finally decided to make the most of the snow when they brought our their skis and decided to have race to warm up. Check out a few of our favorites below!
We are so excited for your fall wedding this year, Kate and Matt! You are an amazing couple and we are so thankful we get to work with you two during this amazing chapter of your lives!
Red Rocks Open Space, Colorado Springs, Colorado | I’ve always loved engagement shoots. There’s just something about seeing a blushing soon-to-be bride and a lovestruck groom that just makes me all warm and fuzzy all over. However, after becoming engaged myself, my warm and fuzzies turned into butterflies about 20 minutes prior to the photo shoot. Now, granted, I’m about as picky when it comes to our wedding photographer as can be––I know not all brides are going to lose sleep the way I am. However, there was something that suddenly made me a little nervous about shooting someone’s engagement photos. I mean, it really is a big deal for someone to pick ME out of the 173,989,472,139,872,798,638,971,348,093,250,937,589,127,346,187 photographers in the Denver metro/Colorado Springs area (ok, maybe a little dramatic, but you get my point).
When Laura and Daniel (and Yoshi) showed up for their shoot, my butterflies went away and the warm and fuzzies immediately came rushing right back! Daniel proposed to Laura at an Av’s game on October 5, 2013. After learning they’re huge winter/hockey/snowboarding fanatics, it made sense that he’d plan such an awesome and memorable proposal!
And oh, my soul, let me tell you…well, maybe I don’t even have to. Just look at their photos! I can’t get over how in love these two are! During our shoot, it became incredibly obvious how much Laura and Daniel just adore each other. It’s couples like them that make me feel so blessed that I get to do what I do for a living. I mean, come on, I get the honor of documenting the most exciting time of their lives and share love to all their friends and family. Who wouldn’t love that!?
Congratulations, Laura and Daniel! I am so grateful that you have chosen me to be on this incredible journey with you! Let the countdown to July 4, 2014 begin!
