Facebook is a wonderful thing. Especially when it puts you in touch with awesome couples like Cody & Ryan! Cody found me on Facebook before I had even started my business in Colorado. She asked if I’d be able to fly back to West Virginia (my homestate) to shoot her wedding the following year. I was floored! Someone actually wanted me to travel to shoot their wedding?! Awesome!
Within months of getting to know Cody and Ryan, I knew they were a super special couple. They had met in college and had been dating nearly 6 years by the time I had met them. I tell you what though, they had the love and special innocent connection of a high school couple that had been dating for 2 months. They both had a little extra something when they looked at each other or talked about the other person. This was so apparent in the engagement photos and their wedding!
Now, I cry at nearly every wedding I’ve ever been to. But this wedding, I was sobbing. As in, afraid I was going to ruin my camera equipment from water damage sobbing. From the time Cody got her letter from Ryan, to their first kiss, to their first dance, I was queen of the waterworks. I can’t even explain why, it was just the love that they share for each other that was emitting all day long that had every woman in tears.
Nothing makes me love my job more than seeing the unconditional love and adoration between two people like Cody and Ryan. Their wedding day was absolutely elegant, perfect, and emotional. I pray to continually work with couples that share the love that these two do for each other! Thank you, Cody and Ryan, for bringing me to be a part of such a beautiful day!
Oh my soul, the things I have to say about this absolutely dreamy, romantic, country wedding! When I called Cami a few hours before her wedding, she answered with, “Hello sunshine!” Not at all what I expected to hear from a bride who had to last minute change her wedding venue, change the flower delivery time, and couldn’t get a hold of some of the days stars! However, Cami was just a gem all day long! While walking back from her portrait shoot, she said, “I just want to make sure everyone has fun today!” Now, talk about a selfless bride/woman/human being! Cami and her new husband Mike were captivating not only on the outside, but the inside as well.
When Cami told me that the wedding was about as DIY and country as they come, I was thrilled to have the opportunity and blessing to be a part of their day. Everything from Grandma’s Homemade Apple Butter as guest favors, to the barbed wire cake topper made by the father of the bride was homemade and down right country! The party took place at D-Barn in Longmont, Colorado and it was an absolutely stunning venue with the snowcapped Rockies and open fields surrounding the property. Cami wore her brand new cowgirl boots while the men wore their personal choice of foot attire and fitted jeans.
I am SO thankful that I had the privilege of meeting Cami and Mike and to be apart of their big day! It was such a fun and relaxing day which is a big accomplishment for any wedding! CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. & MRS. DIXON!!!
I can’t even begin to express my excitement for this wonderful wedding! Sarah and Scott were some of the first people I met when I moved to Colorado and I had an immediate connection to them. They were the first people to welcome me into their home in Buena Vista, Colorado, invited me to their frisbee golf games, and pulled up their garden so that I could have a fresh supply of basil and arugula. To me, they were God sends during a time when I needed friends the most.
After spending my first hour with the two of them at the frisbee golf course in Chaffee County, I could see the unconditional love they had for each other. Scott’s complete hopeless adoration for Sarah was unmatched and Sarah’s sweet and peaceful demeanor around Scott was incredibly endearing. When Sarah told me Scott had proposed I almost lost my mind! I was completely ecstatic and was even more elated when she asked me to be at the wedding! The genuine love they share is completely intoxicating and I knew their wedding would be nothing short of amazing.
April 6 came and was absolutely romantic. Sarah was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen and Scott was one of the proudest grooms in the world! Both of them were beaming after they said “I do”. I am SO overjoyed for the new Mr. & Mrs. Reece and for the wonderful life they have ahead of them!
