If there’s any way to make a vacation to Colorado any better than it already is, getting engaged is definitely the cherry on top! When Austin messaged me about the proposal he was planning for Morgan, I was so honored that Mike and I were going to be a part of it. Planning a proposal has to be the single most stressful moment in a man’s life, and I’ve just got to say, I’m so thankful I’m not a man. The rain was coming down in sheets just hours before Austin was going to propose. Minutes before the were scheduled to arrive at Pine Valley Ranch Park in Pine, Colorado, I myself started getting antsy, barfy, my hands were literally shaking, I was nervous. And then I remembered, I’m not the one with a ring in my pocket or a girl on my shoulder who has no idea it was about to happen! Poor Austin, he must be feeling this times a million bajillion! At least I can sing Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” in my head to chill out. I’m so glad I’m not a man.
As Austin and Morgan walked towards me pretending to stretch at Pine Valley Ranch Park, Austin and I exchanged smiles. Having never met it was super exciting to see them walking towards us (Mike was close by, 15 feet up in a tree), and I followed close behind as they made their way to the gazebo Austin had planned to pop the big one! I could see Austin getting all the moves ready; he grabbed her hand, told her to take off her sunglasses, and assumed the one knee position! Immediately, Morgan started giggling and before she even said, “YES!” she reached down to steal a kiss from her man and they stood in a beautiful embrace. Once they came out of the hug, Austin yelled, “So that’s a ‘yes’?!” Morgan replied, with so much enthusiasm and without missing beat, “YES! YES!”
It’s so cool shooting the photos right after the proposal because you know, suddenly, their whole world has changed. NOTHING else in the world matters except that moment. Suddenly, Morgan was looking at Austin and I’m sure thinking something like, “F-O-R-E-V-E-R! My FIANCE! My HUSBAND! My WHOLE LIFE!” Thank you, Austin and Morgan, for having us be a part of this incredible moment in your lives and for trusting us to document these amazing minutes for you! We’re so excited for this incredible journey into marriage!

I can honestly say, with the most sincerity, that we’ve never met a couple who makes each other laugh as much as Laura and James do! Their classic and sophisticated black, white, and red wedding at the Golden Hotel in Golden, Colorado made for the perfect summer Sunday afternoon. Throughout the entirety of their relationship, the number 21 and the date of the 21st has always marked a special day for these two, so they kept their lucky number and tied the knot on June 21, 2015, Father’s Day! Their ceremony was full of laughter and true love. Laura and James, thank you so much for having us be there with you as you said, “We do!”

:: Details we love ::
• The boys have an “Adidas girl” who made a special delivery (yes, delivery) for them at the
Golden Hotel with 4 pairs of white and black Adidas kicks, a surprise to Laura!
• Laura’s “something blue” toenails
• Laura’s stunning shoulder length veil with black lace trim
Sometimes you meet couples that you just click with. Aaron and Michelle were one of those couples right off the bat! Our shared love of our dogs, the mountains, and hiking immediately made them a couple we totally clicked with from our first meeting. Being from Washington, Michelle and Aaron moved to Colorado and headed straight to the mountains, being just a few miles from our home in the foothills. We were so excited to hear that their love of the mountains was going to carry into their wedding at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado. Even folks from Washington were blown away at the beautiful Rockies during the couples ceremony. Thank you to for being so incredible and having us share your day with you and Apollo!

Details we loved :: Their dog, Apollo, came to their first look dressed to the nines in his bow tie. The blue flower in Michelle’s bouquet was made from her grandfather’s tie, who recently passed. The toast the couple made at their first look while they took some time to be together before the ceremony. The wood slabs at the reception came from Michelle and Aaron’s home in Morrison, Colorado.
Megan and Derrick’s big day last week was the epitome of a stunning summer wedding in Colorado. Surrounded by family and friends, these two said, We do!” at Baldoria on the Water and we are so thankful we got to be a part of their beautiful wedding day! Have a wonderful time in Jamaica, you two!

When I met Brian and Alexei for the first time, I knew they were a unique couple. They way they look at each other could make you melt in 2 seconds flat. Their beautiful spring wedding at Mount Vernon Country Club in Golden, Colorado was graced with an amazing Colorado lightning storm, intimate friends and family, as well as lots of laughter and tears from both the couple and the guests. Not only was Alexei a stunning bride, she became a mother of two wonderful boys. Their wedding ceremony was so meaningful and sentimental and we are so honored we got to be a part of your amazing day you two!

With all this rain in Colorado, Monday night’s engagement shoot with Meaghan and Jackson was quite a welcomed change! Brews, barley, bows, and bulldogs are all just about all you need to know about this awesome couple! Matthew and Cortney live in Kansas City but had their amazing destination, brewery-inspired wedding in the best state for it: Colorado. I mean, really–where else can you find over 200 breweries in one state? Aside from their love of hops and beer, these two easily make for one of the most endearing and true-to-themselves couple. Despite a hit-and-run on their wedding day, a broken wedding dress strap, and their adorable bulldog, Barley, barreling down the aisle at the Pines at Genesee like a bowling ball, Matt and Cortney were able to laugh and smile all day long. We love you guys and are so excited for your marriage!

When April and I started chatting about her vision for her business and the images she wanted in order to portray a specific message, I was amped! I love people with passion for what they do. It makes our job easier and exciting. April’s passion for her career is unmatched and the journey she’s embarking on going to be quite an amazing adventure!
We love you, April, and are so excited to see you making your dreams and vision come true! We can’t wait to share more about her journey into her nutrition business, so stay tuned!

We all know that rain on your wedding day is good luck, but what about fog? Picture the most beautiful fog you’ve ever seen–where does that fit into wedding day superstitions? Regardless of if it has any true meaning, the insane storms Colorado has been gracing us with these last few weeks have made for some pretty incredible photos and helped make Nick and Kathleen’s wedding day one of the most special we’ve been blessed to be a part of! These two are hopelessly in love and honest to goodness something out of a fairytale. Their adoration for each other and the incredible support from their wonderful family and friends was second to none on this beautiful May afternoon at the Pines at Genesee. Their incorporation of Hawaiian wedding customs made their ceremony so special and genuine. From surprise harps to the best man wiping away the grooms tears, from rainstorms to elaborate leis, and the greatest best man and maid of honor speeches in the history of weddings, the Sutton’s wedding was one for the books!
Congratulations, Nick and Kathleen! Thank you for letting us be a part of your wonderful wedding day!

We love to travel. Anyone who knows us knows that exploring and traveling are our two favorite things. Luckily for us, our career as photographers has led us to some amazing places! Having not yet formally met Paige and Brian, Mike and I were so elated to do a sunset engagement shoot with them just outside of Phoenix, Arizona a couple weeks ago. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE Colorado. However, I’m officially obsessed with the desert and all the amazing scenery that comes with it! Paige and Brian, thank you for being so awesome to shoot! You guys are truly and incredible couple and we can’t wait for your big day in September!
